How can Sound Create Space?

HEARHERE is an album that uses found sounds and candid recordings of everyday life. It is meant to be a study of the relationship between sound and space; the audial and the physical.

The songs are in chronological order based on when they were first written and what found sounds are being used. This album tells a story and is best listened to start to finish.

However you are fully supported in doing whatever you want as a listener because life is a mad and chaotic journey and it is nice to decide on one's own sometimes. Have fun be safe be home before dark.

Atmosphere

Atmosphere

A dream fairy who played here for a short while. They ruled the realm of
sound and light.

HEARHERE, Atmosphere, and the Feeling Maps are multimedia projects made in conversation with one another. Worked on simultaneously, all of them hold pieces of each other.

Atmosphere was a series of immersive performances led by Atmosphere the dream fairy. Complete with improvised soundscapes and environments made of light and string, Atmosphere brought participants into another world where anything was possible. In order to honor the ephemeral and intimate, none of Atmosphere’s performances were filmed or documented. The music they made is what evolved into the project HEARHERE.

Throughout the project, Lali created “Feeling Maps” as a visual expression of the themes explored in both HEARHERE and Atmosphere. The Feeling Maps can all be viewed below.

These joint works exhibited at Hampshire College in Spring of 2019.
